Privacy Policy & Support

Pin Note (the "app") is developed by Ali Murat Kuslu ("developer", "we"). This page explains what data is collected while using the app, how it is processed, and who it is shared with.
| Data | Purpose | Where it's processed |
|---|---|---|
| Audio recording | Microphone access to record your sessions (for transcription) | On your device; sent to Deepgram via our server only if you enable High Accuracy transcription (see below) |
| Speech transcript | Transcription and search | On-device (Apple Speech Recognition), or Deepgram if you enable High Accuracy |
| AI summary text | Generating a summary of your recordings | On-device (Apple Intelligence) or, if you choose, a cloud provider (see below) |
| Anonymous device identifier (a randomly generated code) | Tracking your free-trial and subscription status | On our server (Cloudflare); never linked to your name or email |
| Purchase / subscription information | Unlocking premium features | Processed by Apple (App Store); we never see your payment card details |
| Google Drive access (optional) | Backing up your recordings/notes to Google Drive, if you enable it | Only if you turn this feature on, within Google's own infrastructure |
| Feedback form details (name, email, message) | When you send us feedback or a support request | Only if you submit it, delivered to us by email |
| Ad-serving data (IP address, device information, ad interaction events) | Showing non-personalized ads to free users | By Google AdMob; premium subscribers see no ads (see below) |
By default, recordings are transcribed on your device and never leave it. If you enable the optional High Accuracy mode (a premium feature), that recording's audio file is sent through our backend (Cloudflare Workers) to Deepgram, our speech-to-text provider, solely to create the transcript. The app asks for your explicit permission before any audio is uploaded. The audio is only processed and is not permanently stored by us; Deepgram processes it under its own privacy policy.
By default, the app attempts to generate summaries on-device (Apple Intelligence). When on-device summarization is unavailable, or if you choose a cloud-based provider (e.g. OpenAI or Anthropic), only that recording's transcript text is sent through our backend (Cloudflare Workers) to the selected provider solely to generate a summary. The app asks for your permission before a transcript is first sent to the cloud. This text is not permanently stored — it is used only to produce the summary.
Free (non-premium) users see ads served by Google AdMob: a banner in the session list and optional rewarded videos that unlock one premium summary or transcription per day. Premium subscribers see no ads at all. Ads are configured as non-personalized only: the app does not use the App Tracking Transparency framework, does not access the advertising identifier (IDFA) for personalization, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. To serve and measure ads, Google may process your IP address (for coarse, city-level geography and fraud prevention), basic device information, and ad interaction events (such as views and taps) under Google's privacy policy.
Your recordings, transcripts, and notes are stored only on your own device and remain there until you delete them. On our servers, we only retain subscription/quota status tied to your anonymous device identifier — your audio, transcript, or summary text is never stored permanently on our servers.
Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy and provides protection equal to or stronger than described here. Beyond AdMob's non-personalized ads, the app contains no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
Deleting the app removes all recordings, transcripts, and notes from your device. To request deletion of your anonymous quota record on our server, please contact us through the support section below.
